“ We had lunch here and it was wonderful. The place was beautiful. The owner greeted us and told about the history of the place, which we really enjoyed. They make their own dressing and we all loved the blue cheese dressing! I got the mushroom quiche, delicious! The fried oysters were also an hit! I agree with the review that says you need to invest time but it is worth it. We will definitely be back! ”

“ I came here for the first time for my birthday in August and have been here weekly since. Everything is excellent from the owners to the staff to the fresh ingredients of our cocktails and main dishes. We always get the French 75 and Mojito and it’s the best we’ve ever tasted. The epanades and fried asparagus are to die for! I’m allergic to shellfish, so I’ve only had the beef and mushroom but OMG, so good! Our faves are the chicken paillard and Wagner sage pasta, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Francis (owner) can recommend any wine pairing. For dessert, the ricotta cheesecake is a MUST with their chai latte. Francis greets every single guest and talks to them, and remembers their names, which we love. The waiters are also absolutely wonderful, and Diego certainly left a lasting impression on us when he remembered our names as well. The food quality, the atmosphere, the warmth, 10/10. ”

“ I personally liked this place a lot for my first visit here ever. This is not a quick in and out dining experience plan on investing a little time here it's worth it (2 to 2.5 hours dinner). Our waiter Francis who happens to also be the host, bartender (at least tonight) and co-owner as well was excellent with his knowledge of the menu and also the history of the building itself. Ordered the filet mignon medium rare and was not disappointed with the melt in your mouth cut of meat along with a very tasteful sauce as well. My wife ordered the Wagner sage sausage which is a penne pasta tossed in spicy tomato cream sauce and it was excellent as well. The spices on this pasta dish really popped but we're not overwhelming. Spent a lot of time admiring the fully restored architecture in the eating space as well as listening to the background music of French and Hungarian origins very relaxing. Never realize that this location actually has a four room inn as well. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to check it out; and sample some more of the desserts; ordered a mini pastry basket to go and it was a nice snack to end the evening. ”

“ If you ever find yourself "up on market," I truly cannot recommend Up on Market highly enough. I was treated to a lovely evening on the patio, which was more than accommodating to dogs and other needs. There was a menu listed outside the door to browse before we even decided to stop in, but was guided to even more specials and treats once we were seated. I am still thinking about the Venison Tenderloin and french onion soup. It was an absolutely fantastic meal that felt personal and years in the making. The history, love, attention, and care that was added to the conversations, meal, and environment are worth the visit alone. I hope yourself such an experience here as well. ”

“ Francis and Michelle always welcome me into the restaurant and the food is phenomenal. The atmosphere is so nice. It's not too loud and has a eclectic urban feel, yet cozy. Tonight I had the black striped sea bass with delicate savory cream sauce paired with a Bruno Giacosa - Nebbiolo D'Alba. Francis recommended this wine and it complemented the fish perfectly. The cream caper sauce was unbelievable and what I really enjoyed was the sweet onions in the pasta. Probably the best meal I've had! Topped off with a grasshopper! Highly recommend to anybody that wants a culinary experience. ”

“ We had the pleasure of staying at the charming Up On Market Inn and were blown away by the bistro’s food and atmosphere—from delicious, artfully prepared breakfasts to relaxed, friendly late-night drinks at the bar. We loved it so much, we had breakfast two days in a row—and each morning was just as exceptional as the last. The omelets were perfectly cooked—light, fluffy, and filled with fresh ingredients. One had savory mushrooms and melted cheese, while another featured ham and cheddar, both served with crispy roasted potatoes, a fresh dressed salad, and toasted baguette slices that paired perfectly with their creamy herb dressing. The Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was a standout, topped with silky hollandaise, briny capers, and paper-thin red onions. The accompanying greens added a perfect fresh contrast to the rich flavors. We also ordered a Mediterranean-style starter with grilled pita, creamy hummus topped with pomegranate seeds and herbs, and fresh carrot and cucumber sticks—delicious and beautifully presented. Late-night drinks at the bar were equally enjoyable. The vibe was relaxed but refined, with a creative cocktail menu and a bartender who made us feel right at home.
